RecreationWoodville participates in three sports over the winter. Hockey, figure skating and curling.
Woodville is known for its minor hockey program ranging from several age groups; tikes' teams up to juvenile. Over the years Woodville has had the maroon coloured jerseys and wears them still today with pride. In January 1924, the Continuation School Hockey Club received hockey jerseys. By 1930, the Silver Cup was contested in the "Newman Cup". The 1940's and 50's had the famous Woodville Maroons.
Figure Skating is popular with the young children. The talented instructors are skilled and train the young people with their skating skills. They put on a ice carnival at the end of the season which many of the young children enjoy.
The Woodville Figure Skating Club was founded in 1969. The club received its charter in 1972 and became a member of the Canadian Figure Skating Association.
Curling is a well liked sport from children to seniors.Woodville
has mixed leagues, ladies, men, day curling and little rockers.
